Philippa Gee, Managing Director

Philippa has worked as an Independent Financial Adviser for the past 20 years, earning advanced qualifications and switching to working on a fee basis in 1994. Having been responsible for investment assets of £610 million, gaining experience in the US, in the fund management world and at a senior management level, she provides clients with a completely impartial service of the highest quality. Philippa is also the investment expert at www.moneysupermarket.com.

“I consider myself very lucky, in as much as I love my work and investments is a subject I eat, sleep and breathe. I have such a wonderful family; with two young children to keep us busy we have a lot of fun, although I do need to drink a lot of coffee! Beyond that I spend what time is left frequenting our local bookshop, eating too much chocolate and enjoying the company of friends who have known me for too many years and can make me laugh out loud. Of course my faith is also crucial to me and interlinks all the areas of my life. All of these things make me who I am.”

Sean Hall, Director and Financial Controller

Sean originally trained as an accountant before moving into financial advice in 2001, quickly earning a reputation for high levels of customer service and advice.

“Delivering a high level of service in a local community is what our business is all about and we really are lucky to be based in Church Stretton, it’s idyllic.  Away from work, it’s my family that really makes me tick and I love being a Dad, however I’m told I get exceptionally grumpy if I don’t play basketball at least once a week – it’s a great stress reliever. Then there is always ice cream, music and friends & family around the world keep me focussed!”

Ron Gee, Chair

Ron set up his own firm of Independent Financial Advisers in 1972 and grew it to be a major regional firm, providing high quality financial advice to clients both locally and internationally. In 1987 he became a council member of FIMBRA, which at the time was the regulator of all financial advisers and as well as chairing disciplinary panels he was appointed deputy chairman in 1989. While still working as an IFA he was also involved in switching the business in 1994 to being purely fee-based. Having sold the company, Ron has concentrated on using his knowledge to support a number of commercial ventures and directs a large proportion of his time to charity.

Ron is unusual in the office as he doesn’t drink a lot of coffee but the team still talk to him, despite these trying circumstances!

Don Clark, Consultant

Having established a career as a financial adviser, Don went on to establish Torquil Clark in 1989 which grew to be one of the most significant IFA firms in the UK. By the time he sold it in 2008 it had 120 staff and £610 million funds under management and was the only IFA in the UK to achieve the Gold Standard Award for independent financial advice. Don was the driving force behind the business and under his direction, with a focus on providing a high quality service at a low cost to investors, he became a leading IFA and business figure in the UK. After arranging the very successful sale of his company to the Skipton Building Society, Don remains an entrepreneur with a driving ambition to deliver quality solutions in the financial world.

Don is also a highly regarded filmmaker and has made a documentary called “For Your Tomorrow” which received excellent reviews.
